Just a four-hour drive from Brisbane, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Gladstone and the Sunshine Coast and just a 45-minute flight from Brisbane, Bundaberg attracts tourists and business travellers alike.

A thriving horticultural belt, the region is responsible for one fifth of Queensland’s sugarcane production. As a result, the area’s number one claim to fame is rum production (Bundy and cola, anyone?), but it’s also a thriving hub when it comes to commerce, fishing and a whole host of manufacturing sectors.

But there’s more to love about Bundaberg. The gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, it’s an area of great natural beauty. Plus, the mild winters and pleasant coastal summer temperatures make it an attractive destination all year round. For corporate travellers, the business opportunities balanced with the close proximity to stunning beaches, restaurants and leisure activates means it’s the perfect place to combine work and relaxation. To accommodate all visitors, a plethora of Bundaberg hotels are available — there’s something to suit every travel style and need.

Bundaberg hotels for corporate travellers

What you need from a hotel as a business traveller is likely to be very different compared to if you were coming to the region for a holiday. Your days might be busy. Access to facilities like the internet and printing, could be key. And you might need somewhere to call home for two weeks or longer, so you need to be able to relax as well as work.

When coming to Bundaberg, hotels can be found in the city centre, but don’t be afraid to look a little further afield. Suburbs like Bargara have great commuter links to Bundaberg (only a 20-minute drive) and also give you somewhere to escape to after you’re done with the responsibilities of the nine to five.

Once you’ve clocked off, unwind with a walk along the beach, a relaxed dinner and drinks in our restaurant and wine bar, or simply flop into bed and zone out in front of the TV while ordering room service.

Stroll around the botanic gardens. Take a tour to see the Southern Great Barrier Reef or Mon Repos Regional Park where you can see the largest colony of nesting sea turtles in Australia. The problem won’t be finding things to do. It’ll be finding the time to fit it all in that’s the issue.
